Craig Carpenter is the CEO of X1. Craig has 20 years of experience as a CEO, COO, CRO, CMO and General Counsel in the eDiscovery, compliance and cybersecurity spaces.
Prior to X1, Craig was the CEO of Fronteo (NASDAQ: FTEO), before which he was SVP of Sales at Kroll Ontrack until its acquisition by the Carlyle Group. Prior to Kroll Ontrack, Craig was CMO and then COO at AccessData, before which Craig spent 7 years as the VP of Marketing & Business Development and General Counsel at Recommind prior to its acquisition by Open Text (NASDAQ: OTEX). Before Recommind, Craig ran global marketing and channel teams at Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) prior to its IPO and at Mirapoint prior to its acquisition by Openwave (NASDAQ:SNCR).
Craig began his career as a practicing attorney at Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley in Silicon Valley. Craig has a JD and MBA from Santa Clara University and BAs in Political Science and History from UCLA where he played football and rowed crew.
Brent is the Chief Architect for X1. Brent has more than 25 years of experience as an eDiscovery Consultant, Forensic Examiner. As an expert practitioner, Brent is uniquely positioned as a Leader in the Industry, drawing upon his diverse international experience having performed computer forensics and eDiscovery investigations for Federal and State Law Enforcement Agencies, Foreign Government, Department of Defense, Financial, Healthcare, Motion Picture, Energy and Manufacturing, among others.
Prior to X1, Brent spent seven years at Guidance Software, where he was the primary product manager and feature designer for Guidance Software’s EnCase® eDiscovery solution. Before Guidance Software he was a computer forensics investigator with the FBI, assigned to the Computer Crime Unit.
His qualifications include Certified EnCase® Examiner – EnCE®, FBI Computer Analysis and Response Team (CART). Brent has a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
As Executive Chairman of the Board and Chief Legal Officer, John shapes and guides the company’s strategy and vision. He has an extensive background and expertise in enterprise software, eDiscovery and corporate compliance, combining strong knowledge of both the law and the supporting technologies in those areas.
Prior to joining X1, John served nearly a decade at Guidance Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: GUID) where he held several senior management positions, including Chief Strategy Officer, Vice Chairman, Chief Legal Officer and President and CEO. While at Guidance, John led the transition of the company from start-up to a major enterprise software firm and grew revenues from $5 million to $40 million during his 3-year tenure as CEO.
Prior to joining Guidance, John spent eight years practicing law in the fields of commercial litigation and business transactions. John received an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and a JD from the Santa Clara University School of Law.
Jyothi is the Vice President of Software Delivery at X1. She has over 20 years of experience delivering software which focuses on customer value. Her experience ranges from startups to Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of domains focusing on People, Process and Technology. She has been an Agile practitioner from the early days of XP and has been responsible for strategizing and implementing quality initiatives in transforming Agile software organization.
As X1’s VP of software delivery, she is responsible for leading the full-stack engineering organization, defining technology standards, coming up with lean solutions to complex problems as well as driving the transformation of the company’s capabilities, delivery services, and practices. She does this by partnering with C-level leaders to innovate, modernize and scale in order to capitalize on market share opportunities.
Before X1, Jyothi was heading the Quality Engineering, DevOps and Delivery at Ipro Tech. Prior to her tenure with Ipro, Jyothi has worked at NASA Ames Research Center on the Nebula project (‘nova’ became one of the founding projects of the OpenStack Project), eBay, and Schneider Electric to name a few. She has also received honors such as the NASA Achievement Award (Nebula/Openstack) and President’s Award for Corporate Excellence.
Allan Long is Vice President of Sales and Solution Consulting at X1. Allan brings over 15 years of experience focused on the use and implementation of eDiscovery, data governance and machine learning applications. Allan consults regularly with customers who are focused on improving efficiency and controlling risk in the corporate enterprise.
Prior to X1, Allan has held Senior level roles with several companies including Recommind, CaseLogistix, Opentext, Xerox and Ricoh corporations.
Erik Horacek is the Interim CFO of X1 and leads Finance and Accounting. He brings more than 20 years of financial experience to the role, having worked at companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500. He has managed transactions in numerous industries including Education, Entertainment, Financial, Gaming, Healthcare, Real Estate, and Technology.
Prior to X1, Erik was the Head of Finance at Atom Tickets and built the financial infrastructure to support consistent triple digit annual growth and secure a $60 million investment. Previous experience includes CFO for FMG, Investment Director for a family office focused on repositioning and selling portfolio companies, and in Strategy for Fox Film. Erik started his financial career as an investment banking analyst with Tucker Anthony Sutro.
Erik received his MBA from UCLA Anderson, where he was the Ford Fellow, and his BS in Economics from Duke University.
